Wednesday Dec 14, 2022
Christmas is the celebration of Jesus coming to the world to bring salvation to the world. The term Lamb of God represents Jesus as the ultimate and perfect sacrifice to redeem us from death, sin and the dominion of evil in our lives. The sacrificial system in the Old Testament is perfected in Christ, as the perfect Lamb of God. He is the only way for salvation to be obtained.
The Lamb of God is endowed with God’s Spirit and lived a perfect life and perfect death to atone for the sins of the world and will return not as a sacrifice but as a Righteous Judge and King that will be worshipped (Rev. 5:1-14).

God revealed Himself in the person of Jesus. In the Old Testament, God showed Himself in the flesh in various Christophanies. Experiencing God in the flesh was a rare experience in the Old Testament. It was something to be feared and may even entail a person dying by being in the presence of God.
Christmas reminds us that Jesus, who is uncreated, second person of the Trinity, and fully God, stepped in our world to be with us and be like us.. He pitched His tent with us or “tabernacled” with us so we may be redeemed and called children of God.
