Jesus is the true bread of heaven. Whoever feeds on him by feeding on his words will live, for his words are Spirit and life and are the words of eternal life.

Jesus has life in himself, and everyone who hears his word and believes the Father receives eternal life. They have passed from death to life and will not face damnation. Though they may die, they will again hear his voice and be raised from the dead to everlasting life.
